It seems that it will be a "closed shop" for this "EGM" in London-as I understand very few will be allowed access to the meeting unless membership cards can be produced etc.(If members will be allowed to voice there thoughts on the club?)perhaps these questions could be asked...Why is the club magazine now seemingly a large advert for Radical and Zip and very little else?-despite having more championships than anybody else. The answer maybe because Paul Lawrence (previous Editor)didnt try to do deals to get drives all the time. Also, will the club be doing any DECENT deals for competitors to race abroad (ie Croix)next year instead of complaining about lack of entries...while charging not to decent fees???

Snapper, if it's any consolation I haven't got a clue WHAT the BARC magazine is about.

I suppose it is the members fault for not submitting or requesting articles. I wouldn't have a clue where to start but may make it my winter project to get off my rs and do something about it (beside rebuilding the race car of course).

Denis, it was aimed at the BRSCC's "BRN" mag which I think stands for Boring Radical News?

Snapper, I understood where you were aiming (!) but was trying to make the point that all clubs 'magazines' are probably as bad as each other and that it is up to the club members to do something about it. If they don't then presumably they really aren't THAT concerned!

Couldn't come up with anything clean for the BARC mag, mostly because I can't remember what it is called.

Also, I think you are going to provoke the wrath of the Radical mob with your interpretation of the TLA!

Is mob the correct term for a group of radicals?

OK, just one week to go now so I hope all have decided if they are going (I can't) and those that are unable have primed enough of those that are to ask the awkward questions and hopefully it will be sorted to the members' satisfaction.

For example, would cars from Mighty/Super Mighty Minis, Fiestas, Super Coupes, Porsche 924 or VSR go. Britcar is a possibility for some of those, assuming that is you want to go endurance racing. Failing that it's regional sports/saloons or winter open saloons. Hardly the same thing is it.

I'm sure that James Tucker would run a race for the above categories on the Britcar ticket. He could accommodate a 45 minute race or races and provide a better deal than the BRSCC does now

Paul - Just about all the cars mentioned, with some minor modifications, would be more than welcome in the BARC Toyo Tyres Modified Production Saloons!!!!

I also wouldn't knock some the regional series. They are getting good grids and the thought of not spending 7.5 hours trailering to some far off circuit does have a certain appeal, especially if your are on a budget, an occassional racer or got kids.

My point is, rationalisation is a must BUT need not stop anyone racing. If they are put off by having to make some concessions to move to another series then they are possibly just looking for an excuse to stop.

So tonight is the night...

Please would some kind soul detail the events and the outcome for those of us not able to attend?

Then, let's hope, the Club can move forwards to the benefit of all its members.

Damn, not going to make it. Work got in the way, and even if I borrowed a MiG 29, I wouldn't be able to make it in time.. Not even my trusty nova would make it (fuel tank too small!)

I hope that Rod made it and gave them plenty of grief

Rob.

And what about the "real" problems that face the club ie: entry fees & poor grids?

I would like to thank all those who attended the meeting, however they voted as it showed they cared enough to be there. My spies tell me it was quite entertaining.
Now though the Club needs to move forwards addressing all those things mentioned in the earlier posts in this thread. My message to all those people who have issues with this Club is to get involved by lobbying your Centre reps, they are now very energised over this and hopefully the more noise made the more likely the results are going to be acceptable to all. Let's keep it moving forwards!
