Bring back the Dunlop curve, the straight to the esses and the Mulsanne straight (with hump!). Wonder how many extras will be added to this over my lifetime! |

The hump is still there, even if it was flattened a little bit. The track had other modifications along the LM history ; there will be more. The curve downhill killed our favourite postcard, but the place is still interresting for pilots... and public ! For the Hunaudières... you know what I think about Jean-Marie Balestre... |

Is there anyone that remembers him fondly? With the exception of Prost! |

I think Ayrton had a soft spot for him Paul - the soft spot in the head he probably wished he'd punched instead of Irvine......

I have images of reconstructing it in my back garden!! It'll give me somewhere to put the 1997 prototype rear tire that gets moved around the garden. ha. |

Thanks for your answers Although it is interesting that even a definite thing like top speed can be so vague. Perhaps it isn't surprising though.
As an aside. I have always thought it an integral part of Le Mans that cars get (significantly) over 200mph. |

The Domes seem still to reach 340 km/h (well, I hope !). |

The Domes reached into the low, low 330's. Still about 207 miles per hour.

Too bad it's in a part of the circuit we're not allowed to pay a visit. Except some clever ones around - mind the Gendarmes ! |
