Have F1 cars been silenced?
I just remember how loud the F3000 cars were at Birmingham in the late 80s/early 90's, they were so loud they made my ears hurt, I was only about 9 or 10 at the time, and i have a memory like a siv, but i remember they were VERY loud.
But when i went to the GP last year (my first ever) I expected to be deafened, but they weren't that loud. SO have F1 cars been silenced at all? |

I was at one of the Birmingham super prix in the eighties we were about 10 yards from the track opposite the pits, the noise was absolutely deafening, this was probably due to the echo from the buildings surrounding the track. I'm sure today with the emphasis on safety that on most circuits you can't get as near to the cars.
