This really is too easy. To quote Alain Prost: "Of course, we knew from the beginning how good Michael was." In other words, even in cars from the early '90s, he was a worthy competitor for Senna and Prost. In today's cars, his talents are perfectly matched to the technology.
Michael is clearly the best driver, and he has history on his side. He has nothing to prove to putzes like us. That there are still some F1 "fans" who think he hasn't proven himself strikes me as insane -- assuming these fans are sincere and not just having a little not-so-funny fun. Why is there even a debate? And to quote from a recent Autoweek story: "More than anything else, Prost admires the part Schumacher played in turning Ferrari around." Beyond his driving talent, he has shown that he is the best team builder ever. He inspires a team like no driver since Senna, and the Ferrari juggernaut as it exists today is his CREATION. That said, Prost allows that Montoya and Villeneuve are very close to Schumacher in driving talent. Montoya still has a lot to prove, and JV has shown conclusively that he has little to offer beyond his pure racing abilities (although I will continue to root for him). |

TGJ,
Although I admire your hero-worship of JPM (hey, we all need someone to look up to), mate, you really do need to look over what you write sometimes. It's really quite ludicrous! ![]() |
