What are those things on top of the cars in the pics on that article? Something for recording aerodynamic data, perhaps? |

Yeah, they measure speed, I believe. Not a permanent addition - they crop up in testing every year. Ferrari's is enormous

I wonder if Saubers speed is anything to do with the fact that they are short of sponsors? Just a thought from a cynic...
Really hope not though, it would be great to see them doing well this year. |

As has been said many times already, we just don't know - and we won't until Bahrain |

Do Sauber have any sponsors at all? I don't see any on the car. How on earth could they survive if that's the case?

Probably 'intermediates'. They do look like grooved tyres when going at a fair lick.

Alonso is flying on his first day, but probable owes a lot to Massa´s effort setting the car up on monday and tuesday. anyhow, promising first day for him. we will see on long runs how he can cope with the car.

So Ferrari clean up at Valencia, they top the time sheets every day. Sauber comes second every day too. Hmm, early front runners?
As someone said earlier though, Barcelona will be the first big test of these new cars. Sadly, as much as I like Ferrari, I see things not going as smoothly there as they have done here. What other teams will be present? Virgin, Lotus, Red Bull and Force India perhaps? |

This bodes well for Ferrari and Sauber at high downforce tracks at least. Monaco, for example, where it's all 'point and squirt', as someone said earlier. But we saw last year how cars good at those circuits were often pretty poor in low downforce and vice versa. Force India were the opposite, excellent at Spa and Monza but backmarkers at many of the others.
So we'll see at Jerez and Barcelona. It will also depend on the updates everyone has planned. |

Alguersuari went very well today, subject to the the usual provisos. Quicker than Button in fact, although Jenson missed the best part of the day when the track was fastest, as they were still sorting the car out for him.
