Good for Matt, but it's hard to take these rain-related terminations seriously. And it makes for crappy TV.

Kenseth wins because I bought a 17 hat last year. Kurt Busch won the title the year after I bought a 97 hat. I have the power supreme, except when I bought a Dave Marcis hat.

Notables:
3. A.J. Allmendinger (as of right now, he's only running the first 8 races and the Firecracker 400, perhaps this'll help him get a full-season sponsor) 5. Elliott Sadler (from "fired" to suing his own team to "rehired" to 5th in the Daytona 500) 8. Tony Stewart (it took 3 wrecked racecars in practice, but so ends Week 1 of Stewart's ownership career in NASCAR) 16. Mark Martin (for all the pre-race hype, wasn't a factor) 19. John Andretti (good job for very underfunded team trying to run full season) 27. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (well, his move will provide Wind Tunnel some good material tonight) 35. Scott Speed (best rookie for what that's worth) 43. Joey Logano (oye, well...next week is Fontana, but his performance late last year and Daytona Speedweeks is further confirming my belief he's being pushed too soon) Last edited by Flyin Ryan; 15 Feb 2009 at 23:59. |

i would have liked to see the rest of the race being run. All the anticipation for the last laps and then nothing..
Well done Matt Kenseth anyway |

It's odd that ChampCar fans would attach onto Allmendinger though after his actions and what he said about them and ChampCar when he left the series. There's a good story that after he got signed by Red Bull and left ChampCar he sent a text message to Paul Tracy saying "what type of jet should I buy?" as A.J.'s way of saying bye. Tracy ignored it, but was watching Allmendinger's first qualifying session later where Allmendinger failed to qualify. He sent a message to A.J. saying, "Bill Elliott qualified for the race and you didn't. You told me that he was old, slow, and sucked. And he beat you." Dale needs to go home and have a bloody good think about his intentions within this sport and what he wants to acheive. He has made lots of money, he either needs to pull his finger out of his butt or retire. His driving today, I just couldn't beleive it.
I'm impressed by how calmly i typed that, considering what a shouted at the T.V just moments ago. |

A great race ruined by the influence of television broadcasters. On NASCAR's part: if you know that rain is going to arrive at 6:00, and FOX's coverage begins at 2:00, why do you wait to throw the green flag until 3:45? And if you have installed lights at the track to allow for night racing, why do you call the race so early, other than to make sure that stoners everywhere will be able to tune in to American Dad! at 7:30 and not be freaked out by the antics of Darrell Waltrip in their drug-induced states?

Its a tough call but to me the second impact on Vickers looked like Dale venting his anger on how the race was turning out for him.
Shame it didnt run to the end, the race was just warming up and I thnk Stewart was in with a shout. |

it was a good race shame about jr causing a crash but everyone suffers from brain fade occasionally i dont see the need to make a big deal out of it ,thats just how racing goes sometimes.

Accident aside, how many time do you need to park one of those things on pit road before you learn how to do it properly?

From what I can see from this side of the pond Mr Earnhardt is a very arrogant man. The crash was down to him and his interview afterwards was pathetic. If he really has half the fans they can't be very bright if they are taken in by him.
He should have received a penalty, but it seems he's bigger than the sport. |

Yeah, the pit mistakes were clearly his fault, no one else to blame. He was complaining about the tire on the line but did you see how far out he was from the pit wall ??? He stopped to far out.

hmm, that censored a word i didn't think it needed to, making my post look a lot angrier than it actually was...
...anyway, yeah i think his own mistakes made him drive harder than he needed to and vickers moving to block just tipped him (then vickers ) over the edge. Shame, but as they say wrecking is racing |

JR has the same IQ as most of his disciples. There are two trailers selling JR stuff to one of everyone else. The lines at his trailers are longer than the others.Try buying a No 18 hat.Its reasonable to think half the spectators follow JR.The fact that he makes mistakes of the most basic kind and him with Vickers screwed the race up for the majority of the fast cars seemed not to register with him or any of his tribe. Its to do with money and he can generate more than any other driver as there can be no other explanation why the Hendrick organisation has him on payroll. Its a business not a sport as with all top line racing.Notwithstanding all this we had a great time and if anyone thinks it takes a long time to get out of Silverstone...Be good to see Edwards ,Busch K and Johnson in a F1 car.Would be a lot quicker than people think.Montoya did his usual thing of flattering to deceive.Aussie did fastest lap at 192 and is in the best TV advert.

The motorsport version of WWE! And what a wimp, ("I'll give him the benefit of the doubt") DW is. He called it correctly as it happened, when he stated it was the move of a frustrated driver, but then wimped out after Jr's pathetic explanation. And while I'm at it .... good on Vickers, for saying it like it is. |
