Automatic's for 2004 LeMan's 24 Hour's
Le Mans 2003 (1) Team Bentley Speed 8
(2) Noel Del Bello Reynard 2KQ (3) Veloqx/Prodrive Ferrari 550 (4) AJR/Petersen Porsche 911 GT3 RS or RSR ? ALMS (1) Joest Audi R8R2002 (2) Dyson MG Lola (3) Corvette Corvette C5R (4) Alex Job Porsche 911 GT3RS FIA GT (1) BMS Ferrari 550 (2) BMS Ferrari 550 (3) Freisinger Porsche 911GT3RSR (4) JMB Ferrari 360M And four to come from the LMES race . Bentley Have withdrawn Will the Del Bello Reynard really show its face again Veloqx has said that it wants to take a 575 to Lemans next year . With their ties with Ferrari over the 360GTC for next year I suspect that it will be a 575 but as seen in the last round of the FIA GT at Monza the 575 had to carry ballast because it was deemed to be a new car , so that might mean that they will forfeit their by for next year if they decide on the 575 over the 550  Im not sure about AJR as I heard somewhere that they were looking at Daytona Prototypes Joest will show up with an Audi steamroller again Dyson , well Im sick of hearing that he wants to come over and do LeMans Corvette will show up too and BMS didnt bother this year and Freisinger will get in for sure next year Anyone got anything to add to this ? |

To The Badger:
If you look at the ACO's announcement materials for the new series and how automatic bids will work for 2004, your assessment is not even remotely close to reality.... 9 automatic bids will go to various cars and classes from teh LM 1000K in two weeks...8 more will come from ALMS (4 Petit Class winners & either 2003 ALMS season class winners or the 2004 Sebring Class winners) and FIA-GT will get up to 4 bids, but only if they comply with ACO specs... Since they had up to 12 spots reserved for LM 1000K, but not enough cars enterd to fill all 12 (LMP 675 & GTS were short), some allowances or adjustments may be made... I assume that class winners at 2003 LM will go....they earned it... But no one really knows... |
