A/FR Helmets

Sorry for trying to short circuit the blue book info, but can anyone tell me when a A/FR helmet runs out?
Thanks.

If i were to buy a new helmet i would go for a Snell 05 or later FIA rated helmet. Then at least it will last for a few years as there is a chance type A/FR could be ruled out after 2010 as it was proposed to get rid of it at the end of this year.

Type A/FR should not be phased out in the forseeable future.
Snell SA2000 will be phased out when SA2010 comes in.
SA 2005 should be good until sometime in 2015.
The use of Type A finishes today.
Happy New Year

Is this from a reliable source? The MSA has already published that they are looking to remove this from the blue book. Also I believe that they are no longer being manufactured.

The 2010 BB makes no reference to this. Is there another circular??

As above, I haven't seen it anywhere. Where have you seen that Type A/FR is to be dropped, the info I have is from Motorsports Now and The Blue Book 2010.
Stilo, OMP, Peltor and Sparco are still producing helmets to Type A/FR.
I may be wrong but tell us where the MSA have said A/FR is going anytime soon.

Just gone through the blue book and Motorsport Now and there is no reference to Type A/FR being removed at all.

SWCRacing has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Try the FIA Technical List 25 -
A/FR is now valid until 31/12/2013
SA2000 is valid until 31/12/2014

I am assuming this will be for International Events to start with

Where the FIA go, the MSA will follow
