Strange concept

I had this bizzare thought the other day about making tracks synonymous with their country. Now I understand there are obvious pitfalls with this, but it was more just a bit of fun!

See if you can design any of your own... They can get quite interesting:

WapFlap should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The german track looks like a nice mix of Silverstone and the old Hockenheim track.

This is it - You can even go the extra dimension... I started thinking elements of Nordschliefe and Hockenheim (some long straights and chicanes). Italy I wanted some straights and sweeps, and some quick chicanes alá Monza.

Here's one of mine. Guess what country it is.

Numbers indicate named sections. All have been given a Dutch name but I've made a translation where needed.
1=Zeelandbocht (Zeelandcorner)
2=Hollandse knik (Hollandic kink)
3=Waddenbocht (Waddencorner)
4=Eemsbocht (Emscorner)
5=Nijmegenbocht (Nijmegencorner)
6=Limburg carrousel
7=Brabant
8=den Helderbocht (den Heldercorner)
9=Enkhuizenbocht (Enkhuizencorner)
10=Flevobocht (Flevocorner)
11=Frieslandbocht (Frisiacorner)

8 to 11 make up the the "IJselmeer Complex".

Though I haven't realy tried to make the track like the Dutch tracks, wouldn't have much choice, Assen, Zandvoort or one of the many roadcourse few have ever heard of. The Limburg carrousel would be banked like Zandvoort's Tarzan but that's about it.

The track would be about 5,5 km long in the black layout and be located at an amusement park replacing Madurodam. Ofcourse with all the miniature buildings in the correct locations and all.

The track runs clockwise.

I was about to mention that thread, as I've seen it before trawling through the backlogs.

Nice to see it brought up again.

Anyone notice that the original Zeltweg looks a bit like Austria? In a mirror and upside down?

If someone did a circuit based on Ecuador, they would have to go from clockwise to anti-clockwise on the bottom half.

Chile isn't straight, it's full of tight lef-right-etc. corners.

Looks a bit like the old pre-war road circuits of the USA.

I really like this alot. Tremendous mix of a very old-school, simplistic track (pre-war as mentioned before) with a modern twisty section merged in. I think it'd be a tremendous spectacle and challenge.

The Germans are notorious for their poor cartography.
