Yet to receive finals, but generally signing-on is around 8am for 9am sessions.

We had our final planning meeting for the training days on Monday.
Time table is still "provisonal" but Mark's info is about right.
We are looking at starting the sessions at 0830 on Saturday
and 0900 on Sunday... I would aim to be there about 0745 for sign on
See you there
Regards

Will be there on Saturday, as I've not attended a Training Session for 3yrs now.
Need to catch up on latest Observer stuff (Has it changed?)

Will there be any regular Clerks in my session to answer questions etc?

Final Instructions for the Northern Training extravanganza will be going out in about 10 days - but plan at this stage on 0800 for an 0845 start on each day (just in case I try to squeeze something else in).

If people are intending to come along but haven't yet volunteered, I need to hear from you by this weekend at the latest - otherwise you'll pi$$ me off...

ok heres where i get shot down!....... isn't the term "post chief" applied to the person in charge on a post on the day? he or she is not necessarily an observer but could equally be a flag marshal or IO! personally i'm doing observer training... thats what my grading card says i am!

Hi folks,

Just out of interest, does the regalia officer bring any of the BMMC club stuff along. I just fancied a few bits n bobs and wondered. I'd wait until then if he does.

Many thanks.

Harry will be there selling BMMC stuf. Normally has a table set up just inside the doors of the Fogerty Moss Centre.

Thanks Mike.

I thought they may do something but that means I can wait until then.

Cheers.

Received my "Finals" today from FM for the Observer training on the Saturday.
Looking forward to actually getting to one for the first time in three years!

The North Region's Training Co-Ordinator asked for comments about this training weekend to be directed towards him and the committee, rather than appearing here on Tenths.
Therefore, I can't tell anyone on here that Flying Muppet and his Training team organised the best training day I have ever been to. Neither can I tell you that over 250 marshals of all grades & duties attended Oulton Park over the weekend!
Well done to all involved with the weekend, and from me - Thankyou!

I Agree! It was my first training day and I found it very useful and good to put faces to names.

Thanks to all involved.

Rich

p.s. I gave Andy verbal feedback at the end of the training day.

Im not actually saying thanks to Andy and the comittee for an excellent wekends training, and I cant say anything about how informative and interesting all the speakers were either so I wont.

Oh yes, Im also not going to say how unexpected and thrilled I was at receiving the Award for New marshal of the Year!

Right I've not said it! Great.

does that mean that if i tell them my exhaust fell off on the way home that they can fix it?

better not say that it was good to hear from new aspects of marshalling like recovery then, and that its great to see OP looking so good and so many in the tango army yet again

And I can't tell you how great it was to see everybody after the winter break, how nice it was to see all the new marshals and also our visitor from Northern Ireland.

And to thank everybody involved with organising the two days for all their hard work.

Modesty would, in any case, have prevented me from mentioning that Paul Perkins & I have been nominated for Oscars for our starring roles in 'XR Drivers Go Wild - Part 1 & Part 2'

...and, for those who saw that look of terror on my face as my (oops, our!) car was rolling back towards the Armco with two people both shouting 'grab the handbrake', with the horn blaring away just to add colour to the incident, that wasn't acting, that was for real! I'm all for making training exercises as realistic as possible, but you can have too much of a good thing!

Thank you all for your kind comments...

Like marshalling in general, it's all a team effort, and SO many people helped me or just got stuck in; far too many people to list individually. But thank you very much to everyone...

Now all I've got to do is sort out the finances!
