The tracks are just fine. I liked that you placed the rio circuit next to the Ja Carepagua
My favourite one was the Hyde park circuit. bio PS: Might be an idea to edit the links so they point to a less magnified version so the whole of the tracks are visible right away. |

Maybe a tad bit short - but that's all on the negative side
Looks a well paced one. bio |

My attempt at a British Spa-Francorchamps.
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1748014 This is at Bretford, Warwickshire. You'll need to zoom in on certain points of the track to really appreciate the corners. There are very interesting gradients, the roads are really spindly and very, very fast. We go past a classic Ferrari dealership (which I tried to find a photograph of), a number of beautiful pubs, winding countryside, farms, through two villages and past Coventry Stadium at Brandon. At 6.7 miles it's of competitive length for a circuit intended for use during the 1960's. |

Exactly like a Tour De France stage
I like the time travel though - designing a track for the 60's. bio |

driving around there is like taking a journey back in time.
although nothing ever raced there, you can almost hear the old f1 cars, the rattly pa and the noisy crowd as it all reverberates off stone cottages. and the bursts in the countryside, flat out bursts. brilliant roads. |

It's OFF really here, but I just had a look again at your Rio street circuit next to Jacarepagua and made me wonder: do i understand that they tore that circuit (Jacarepagua)down and built an indoor sports arena there? The pictures suggest that.
I guess it's common knowledge but somehow i managed to miss this altogether... I just realized there are no MotoGP events there for some time now... bio |

Thx for the info, SBF.
Sad thing. I didn't really like that track as a video-game racer, but loved the way it looked. bio |

I saw some very interesting roads near your track, shambles. Although I'm not sure all the locals would like a race track on their door step.

It would even be better if at the ultimate corner, the roundabout, the trackline would take the longer way around.
But it's still a hugely good one. bio |

Well, a very interesting layout, for sure.
Don't know if you were aware but there's even some altitude change involved: the section that contains the 1-mile marker is a rather steep ascent up until about 1.2 miles. Then a short flatter past comes then a descent from the hairpin until about the 2-mile marker. Also, at the southernmost straight-ish section with the 4 mile marker shows some height-changes. The rest is pretty much flat. Unfortuantely much of the track goes on streets that are way too narrow for racing, with speed traps on many points. Plus, the hilly, red-roofed part around the mile-marker is the historical center of the city, "The Castle", strictly protected, full of 4-5-600 year old buildings, the Royal Palace (Just after the hairpin) and the Presidential Palace. Doubt they'd let the race go on there But all in all I think it would be a very enjoyable race, and at some places even stands could be erected, like that tight right hand corner just south of the 3-mile marker or at the hairpin up in the Castle or at the southermost hairpin. I like it. Thx for posting. |
