All being well I'll be there for all 3 days, and looking forward to it! If it's a patch on last years it'll be great.

It's come to me highly recommended, so looking forward to my 3 days of whatever they find me to do.

Don't forget the memorial service if you arrive on Thursday evening - ought marshals be in orange to "fly the flag" ?

It should be a good meeting, if a bit long on some days.

All marshals will receive one wristband and one guest tickets. Both of these will need to be collected from the welcome centre, where I will also be doing sign-on. It will be possible to leave your guest ticket for your guest to collect if necessary.

The welcome centre will be open from Wednesday onwards.

If any of this changes I will put a note on here.

Final instructions will hopefully be sent out shortly, but I am still waiting for confirmation from HSCC when these will be sent.

I know this is a complete change from normal, but Motionworks wants to do it the European way, which is how I understand it works in some countries abroad.

Please do not hesitate to let me have any feedback after the event.

Hi Fay - does this include all the BRDC Marshals that have volunteered via Pam as well?

Yet to volunteer for this meet but that appears to be an awkward way of doing things, especially for those camping, unless one signs on only once on entering the circuit ?
I'm assuming the 'welcome centre' is outside the main gates, otherwise no one could get in ?

To answer some of the questions:-

I believe the welcome centre will be open 24 hours. If not, then I will sort something out.

I am afraid you will have to sign-on everyday. However, there will be a minibus from the campsite to take you to sign-on (HSCC) at the welcome centre should you want to use it.

The campsite will not be quite in the normal place. The last I heard was that it will be slightly more towards Woodcote. It is possible that some of the drivers will also be camping in this area.

I will give you more information as I receive it.

Regards

Fay

The welcome centre is in one of the car parks on the outside of the circuit by the main entrance. I think by entrance 10, but again I will confirm as soon as I can.

Fay,
It looks unlikely that I'll be available for Friday now, but will definately be there Saturday & Sunday.
Hope this isn't too much of a problem,
Al.

Hello all,

Sounds like it will be a great meeting I have just popped a e-mail to Fay as I'm yet to voulenteer. Been tied up in stupid exams!

EDIT: I have just noticed on the Silverstone Classics Website that the Welcome Centre is at Car Park 50. Am I right? (Link: http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/event-map/)

See you all,

Chris

Hello - I'm going to be there all 3 days as a photographer - would it be ok if I camped with you in the marshals area? Is there a washblock at Copse?

Sorry, another question. How is the guest set up working, do you need there name if they are going to collect the ticket, or do they need to be with us? Its just my guest will probably be a work colleague who will be coming from a different direction.

As I understand it you will be given your wristband and guest ticket and you can then put the guest ticket in an envelope with their name on for them to collect.

Sorry Fay - another question - Anyone volunteering via BRDC (Pam) still has to sign on at Welcome Centre - is that correct?

Can I pop in on Wednesday to sort my wife's ticket out (she won't be with me until weekend)

Also do we sign on at Welcome centre each day or is sign on only done once then at post for other days?

Sorry for the multitude of questions

If you have volunteered by BRDC and are doing ES then I believe Pam will be signing on at the Paddock Diner.

If you have an ES pass then I guess you will not need to go to the Welcome Centre.

If you are doing any other duty apart from ES, then you will need to sign-on with me each day at the welcome centre.
