I would go with the "He was joking" side? It was a calculated gamble he just hit too hard. It had nothing to do with computer games. I bet he is regretting that comment now.

Yeah, that line works great in on video games. I think the comment was a joke too. Still, would have been pretty spectacular if he'd pulled it off.

I thought it was a fun little comment. I doubt he would regret anything he said, certainly not that. If people want to get giddy about it then it is their problem.
He went for it, over did it. However I guess he realised that nowadays he would finish second at worse because these CoT can take a sideways hit against the barrier. |

there's only a handful of guys that would have even thought about trying that...so high in the points, risk of crashing out of the points for that race. gotta love it, and i am pretty sure he knew it wouldn't work quite like in it does the video games.

funny that move does work in video games, Carl had no reason not to think it would work, except the true life wall Friction not being like the video game- oops, i bet he has done it in the game and said i am second what's the worst i finish second or first.
better he knew it could be tried and try it to find some more limitation to the "games" he uses, he is one of my favorites |
