ARCA

I kinda expected the current economic crisis to hit the ARCA series quite hard. Sure enough there is 26 entries for the Daytona race in Feb. Begining of the end maybe? Any thoughts?

interesting that the feeder series is still proving popular in these times - though 26 cars is still a big drop from 43...

I wish Motorstv did the NASCAR coverage, we'd get the decent fox/tnt/abc coverage instead of John Mickel and a Journalist

It was good to watch ARCA again though, i'd forgotten who'd won Daytona so it was cool to watch it unaware

I'm sure they'll fill the rest of the grid with start and parks, a la Cup and Craftsman Trucks. Any guesses on how much an ARCA ride at Daytone costs?

Anyone else spot the French guy in the Salem race? Michel somebody or other. And the A1GP guy Nur Ali in the Daytona race.

This guy? He has been kicking about the scene for a while but I find him difficult to take seriously. Must be doing something right to get the budget for ARCA though. He went to Canada to do CASCAR, only did one race, made a big song and dance over it and then didn't even make the race as I recall. I can't decide if he is being stitched up by teams or if he is a complete idiot. Because I have never met him, but have a feeling I might soon, I will go with the former.

He's a bit dramatic there isn't he, you'd think he was Jean Girard or something

He will come over and beat you Wicky Booby!

As for the ARCA - I enquired last year, and then ran away...........
For a mid-field team... $80K plus damage for 'dega or 'tona. If you bend it - you mend it!! (so add another $80K or so)

I bet they'll take your card this year Dan.
