ARDS Written Test Only
HI Guys
I've been out of racing for a few years and i'm looking to get a little more done before i finally give it up. A quick call to the MSA revealed that i'm past my 5 year grace period since i last held a license. SO apparently i need to take the ARDS written test before i re-apply. Anybody know how that's doen and how much it costs? All i can seem to find reference to is the full driving test version. Cheers |

I am pretty certain if you speak to any ARDS circuit(Brands/Oulton etc) they would be able to help you sort the written part for you . Good Luck.

How long has there been a 5 year elapsed period. My unlce didn't race from 1965 until 2002 but because he could show his original licence they had to grant him a new one.

Just read the Blue book and it says anyone who can provide proof of ever holding a Nat A licence can renew it for a 2009 Nat A licence. Do you still have your old one?

Without looking at a Blue Book, I believe its dependant on what grade you had. A Nat B has a certain grace period, a Nat A has a longer one (or indefinate) and an International means you can get a licence any time after giving it up...?

It can or was also dependant if you could have qualified for a Nat A when you were racing with just a Nat B. thats how I got mine back after an 8 year layoff by producing proof I had finished in over 6 races without upsetting anyone, I also got a letter from one of the big clubs supporting the fact.
