Cameron Binnie photos.
I'm not to sure if I'm ment to be posting this, but after spending hours trawling the internet, I've decided to give this a bash.
Im looking for some photos of my dad racing. His name is Cameron Binnie and raced in Formula ford and formula 3, around the 70's and 80's. He was Scottish Champ for a few years. He ran under the Border Reivers. Does anybody know who I could contact with reguard to this?? Or do you know where I could look to find some photos? Im unsure how to use this forum so if you do have anything please email me: melissa.binnie@yorksj.ac.uk Any information would be very much appreicated!! |

As a host for both sites I think this is better suited to Motorsport History so am moving it there!

I would suggest you try to contact Graham Gauld, well known historian, photographer and author of several books on Scottish Motor racing. Jim Moir is another photographer from the Ingliston days, would suggest you contact the Scottish Motor Racing Club for their contact details.

I remember your dad racing in FFord, he was unbeatable for a while.
At the time my dad was doing the filming at ingliston and I have all the old tapes unfortunately they are on an old format so i have not been able get them copied across to dvd hope to do this at some point so might ve able to get you some video of him. |

Always a pleasure to watch your dad in FF1600 and later in FF2000.
Another source of photos could be Bill Henderson, long-time photographer at all Scottish events. I couldn't find an e-mail address, but a recent 'Speedsport' magazine lists a telephone number : 01324 622671 Jim Moir, mentioned earlier, has an e-mail address on the Bo'ness Hill Climb site, : jim.moir@blueyonder.co.uk Good luck in your search. |

Hi Melissa,
Let me help you in your quest for information and pictures of your dad. The next days dive into my vast archive Formula Ford and if I find something then I put it in this forum and I simultaneously send it to your private e-mail. Below an article about your father (Autosport, March 28, 1985) Regards, Henk A. Hazelaar |

Here are some photos from 'Wheelbase' Magazine;
Number 1, car 69, at Ingliston, October 1986, on his way to victory. Number 2, line-up for the 1987 season. Number 3, from October 1987. |

Melissa, did your dad compete in many races south of the border in 85/86?
If he did, I may well have some shots of him, if you know of any specific events, let me know brendan@brendanmcfarlane.co.uk I'll keep an eye open as I'm going through my archives, and let you know if I come across any photos. |

I remember cameron quite well and had a few races with him in 1979 whilst doing the Esso FF1600 championship. He had a white and red Vandiemen that year and did well.
I have a photo of him in it at Donington. He was in the middle of the front row, me on pole and Jim walsh third on the grid. I also have the Autosport race report. I am trying to scan them in and post them here but I ham having problems with my scaner. Regards Trotty |
