Wild Tracks RallyCross Circuit, Newmarket.

Rallycross Circuit, a couple of years ago a much heralded Rallycross circuit was announced as taking shape near Newmarket, I think it was going to be called Wild Tracks or something along that name, it was to bring the sport back to that part of the country and Arthur the voice of Rallycross was proclaiming the return of the sport to his part of the UK
Anyone know what happened as to this circuit venture, is it still ongoing or sunk without trace.

Too tight and narrow was the consensus if I remember correctly.

I believe Arthur was more behind the proposal for a circuit at Red Lodge also in East Anglia, anyone know what happened to that?

think it fell foul of planning permission over spectator banking? You can see the layout on google maps - and it featured on the bbc - escape to the country or something like that - with the couple driving rent a buggies around it.

shhh has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
A complete joke of a Rallycross venue, couldn't get the car around the track it was that tight. We tested there immediately after getting off the boat from Sweden after collecting Hansen's Xsara in 2005. I have some footage, will look for links and post later

I done the test meeting there in my minicross car.
Not impressed when trailer started rusting thanks to it being an ex salt mine and not being told!

Wild Tracks is a kart circuit and 'experience' centre for corporate types.

If you put Red Lodge post code into google maps it shows two tracks either side of the A11. The one on the left appears to have all the loose sections there. Looking at the Red Lodge Karting website, the kart track is the one on the right. Do they own both? Any chance it's ever going to get used? Is this an old photo?

Just realised my error, the circuit I refer to is in fact the Wild Tracks circuit. If that's too thin then the Red Lodge circuit over the road certainly will be.

The one on the left when driving North East towards Norwich is Wild Tracks

The one on the left when driving towards London is Red Lodge Karting

Your old 205 (my old car 602) won the stock hatch A final at wildtracks, think that was the only event they ever had there.

I did a lot of Motocross there in the mid 00's, good facilities they also had a Kart track I believe this formed the basis of the Rally X track.
