Noise Nuisance
Having just heard the government are trying to get rid of some laws and regs passed by the previous goverment.
Is it worth us marshals looking at this and trying to change the noise laws in light of Croft and Castle Commbe's predicament??? http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/restor...noise-nuisance |

The Croft situation came about because of the breakup of the operator's marriage (if I recall correctly); Castle Combe because a high-powered lawyer bought a weekend pad near the circuit and fought to get restrictions put on the circuit, in doing so dragging a load of other well-off and well-positioned "incomers" with them. Again, if I recall correctly, a majority of the complainants in the Combe case had lived there for considerably less time than the circuit had been in action. I'm not sure the laws that the restrictions were put in under are particularly new. I could be wrong though, it's happened before... |

Errr.. the environmental protection laws that are applicable were actually brought in by the previous Tory government in an attempt to control raves (loud music). Think you're onto a loser..

Might be worth trying to instate (re-instate) the sort of prior use rights often referred to as "grandfather" rights. "We were here first" sort of thing.

I've just submitted the idea on the HM Gov Your Freedom website. It's tagged 'motorsport' when you search.
I felt we could be defeatist, say it won't make any difference and not say anything, and it wouldn't make a difference. Or, we can make our feelings known, speak up, and have our argument heard for a change. |
