V8 Gearboxes
Afternoon lads
Having a debate over at the iRacing forums about whether or not a H pattern gearbox is still legal in V8 Supercars - particularly the main game. Not questioning as to which one if preferred or faster - that is pretty obviously the sequential option but if someone wanted to or needed to, could a H pattern still be used? Thanks Jim |

I think that the deal was once they'd gone sequential they couldn't go back so they're all locked into it now.

the answer to your question is yes they can, but as mentioned by tourer they can not go back to the h pattern kind off, the rule is once you have changed to a 3rd gear ratio of 1.60:1 you can not go back to the older 3rd gear ratio 1.66:1, my understanding is the new gear ratio can not be used in the h pattern box, so therefore you cant use the h pattern anymore
But the rule is for a car, build a new car and you can use the h pattern rule c 8.4 |

Thanks guys - all I wanted to know - it is still POSSIBLE to run a H pattern in a V8 Supercar.
