Racecar Engineering magazine
The magazine is under new ownership . Chelsea Magazine Company has bought the title from IPC media. I cannot make any comment on this as i have never read any title of the first publication company. What i would like to point out is that subscription rates are so expensive. Last year i subsribed to the magazine and i paid somewhat like 60-65 Euros for 12 issues. That was an offer of course. If i want to make a new subscription right now, i will have to pay 84 pounds which equates to about 99 Euros at today's exchange rates. Subscriptions for UK readers is expensive too, at 72 pounds. RaceTech's rates are 36 pounds for UK (half the price) and 55 pounds for Europe. What do you think? The new ownership of the magazine will lead to a reduction in subscriptions?

I hope they still take Tesco tokens!
For those not from the UK, Tesco is a supermarket that give loyalty points. These can then be traded in for money off shopping, or traded for three or four times that amount as "reward tokens" which can be used with a number of different companies. Just so happens Racecar Engineering is on the list of things that can be bought with the tokens, so I got my last subscription for about £20 worth of tokens which I got from the family weekly shopping. Result! Hope it continues! |

I've had a subscription for the past year and have seen the magazine arrive at varying intervals. Whereas my Motorsport would arrive on the 12th of each month (+/- 4 days), for my Racecar Engineering it would always be +/- 20 days.
It has considerably less pages in it than Motorsport, yet subprices are (or were) approx. the same. I guess that comes with supplying a niche market (compared to Motorsport, which will appeal to a much wider audience). That said, I've always enjoyed everything about it and will absolutely renew my subscription!! Michael Drost the Netherlands |

I have to agree, it is expensive for the subscription. I can't find it in the shops anywhere at the moment.
Don't know if anyone knows who stocks it "in-store". If anyone finds an outlet, then post up please. I'll be looking around the Cheshire and Shropshire (England) area. I found last months edition at Birmingham airport, but I live miles from there so won't be going until my next holiday . However, it is a great read and I'll keep looking. I had contemplated the subscription but that is far too much money for me at the moment. Elliot. |
