Any one here go to the Daytona 500 this year?
Recentally got back from honeymoon from the states and managed to fit in the daytona 500, Wow what an experience. Had good seats and fan zone passes which let us on to the infeild and pit lane befor the race. Nascar is so fan friendly you can almost touch the cars while wondering around the pits. Just wonderd if any one else had been and what they thought.
Ps what a dream race for trevor bayne |

My friend Scott and I went to the 2008 50th Daytona 500 and i have to say it was one of the best things I have ever done.
We booked with Grandstand tours, the hotel was a bit shabby but the package was fine including coach transfers to both Saturdays Camping World 300 and the big one. In the days before we went to Disney, Islands of Adventure and Wet & Wild. Wet & Wild was mega and in Feb no queues for any rides. I plan to return when my son is old enough and take my wife! If you find the Nascar style bug biting, jump on the ferry to Belgium and check out the Late Models. |

You honeymooned at the 500? Wow, she's a keeper.
Been to the 400, but not the 500 itself. It is a fantastic experience, true. I did do the Petty thing, set the fastest time amongst a bunch of Americans, they didn't like that lol, they were examining my lap sheet to see how I got quicker and quicker. British intelligence, I said. |

It was part of the deal to get married. Lol we got married in november and held off the honeymoon till feb so we could watch the daytons 500.
they didnt read out the fastest times at our session so i dont know who was quickest. All i know is that daytona got to 150 mph and las vegas got to 147mph. I guess us brits have an advantage as we know how to shift gear. Lol |
