Which was harder on the cars? Chicanes or full straight?
Are the extra gear shifts, braking and acceleration zones harder on the car then just going flat out for 3 miles?

Breaking up the straights is not just harder on the cars but also consumes more fuel

The Chicanes are harder on the cars and the drivers as most of the drivers will tell you.

The need to run higher downforce makes the rest of the track alot quicker than it would be if the car is trimmed for high(er) speed.
Therefore the stress on the car and driver is higher i would have thought. |

The chicanes unless you were in a WR which tended to catch fire on the straight
