it's been rumbling around for a while now, snippets on various news websites and others. It sounds like one of Bernie's routine deals - and is what you and I might think smells of bribery and corruption; a very mystified air will be adopted, a good brief will be wheeled in, flimsy evidence will be challenged and rubbished, a rabbit will be pulled out of a hat, and nothing will come of it.

Well if he's guilty I hope he gets done. I'm sure he can afford the best representation and that will give him a huge advantage. Until then he's innocent of anything. As for still being sharp I'm sure you have to be a bit slower as you get to his age.

This scandal could have massive implications for F1.

Bearing in mind that most of the GPs are financed by the public purse in various countries a bribery scandal could pretty well unstitch the whole circus.

I'll repeat, this has massive implications!

He is saying it wasn't a bribe at all, but Bernie was just paying blackmail to avoid being dobbed in to the UK tax authorities.

Jake interviewed Bernie on BBC today. He denied doing anything wrong and said that he had nothing to worry about, but I thought he seemed very subdued. You can usually rely on Bernie to very combative in these circumstances, but he was not his usual self.

Doesn't sound like a big deal to me, he paid for private work it is the amount that folks object to. Exactly how did he bribe some one to do what? And it is all aledged retroactively I say pfft. Rich folks with big deals get poopoo ed all the time.
