2012 meetings

A couple of interesting dates have been announced already.

The new World Endurance Championship at Silverstone is on the Saturday this year on 25th August which clashes with the Gold Cup at Oulton.

The Masters meeting at Brands is the same weekend as last year but Whit has been moved on a week so the meeting will not have the "clubbie" on the indy track.

Maybe we could keep this thread going , updating when meetings are announced

Steve Fox should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I've still got a couple more days to go at Brands before I start to think about next year. I may not throw the willow at every meeting like I have done for the later part of this year but will be slightly more circumspect. I really enjoyed the HSCC meetings and there were plenty of clubbies that went down a storm. The ff festival was good too but there were a few that I won't bother with next year for one reason or another (mostly being in a team of a dozen all looking longingly at one piece of gravel, not really my thing although I'm sure if one enjoyed the "social" aspect of Marshaling (which I don't, but I know a lot do) that would be a good type of meeting to go to) but I'm sure that I might miss some great meetings if I were to base next year solely on last year. So when I get those forms with "Brands Hatch" written somewhere on them which, in the learned opinion of the assembled masses, should I be making a definite for 2012 based on previous years?

Doing the rumour rounds at the moment is that the 24hrs will not take place...

A few of the (relatively) bigger Irish dates for those who fancy a hop across the pond - I wonder if the 'Oulton Wanderers' fancy another tour?

Phoenix Park Races - 18/19 August
Mondello Park (Leinster Trophy) - 08/09 September
Kirkistown (Martin Donnelly Trophy) - 29 September

I'm told that there is a good chance the Phoenix Park event will go ahead this year, despite being cancelled this year and last. Keep your fingers crossed!

Seems that the 24hr date is 'flexible', despite James announcing the date at/after this years race.

Anyway, Britcar dates issued yesterday:
1 Silverstone Grand Prix 24th March
2 Donington Grand Prix 21st April
3 Snetterton 300 12th May
4 Brands Hatch Indy 2nd June
5 Oulton Park 23rd June
6 Brands Hatch Grand Prix 14th-15th July
7 Snetterton 300 18th August
-- Silverstone GP (24hr) TBA
8 Donington National 2nd-3rd November

Noooo! My favourite event at my least favourite (in marshalling terms) circuit. Last time it was there I sent my passes back and haven't returned since. Worse camping facilities too (unless they still use the proper site next door), which is half the enjoyment. That'll be a difficult choice. If the timetable is normal Doni big meeting style might just do race day.

Hope it stays on the original date. I'm free that week-end and it's in my diary ready.

If Phoenix Park is on, I'm certainly up for it if I'm free. It was one of the most enjoyable meetings ever when Glyn and I did it in 2009.

i prefer to start organising my dates now, if i waited for barc to release their dates in the new year most of my days would be with barc...which the events are good but i need a slight change of scenary rather than the club meetings all the time

Silverstone list looks good this year - more endurance stuff, plus CRMC bringing the old bikes along in mid-October (no BemSee though this year).

Britcar 24 now showing a week earlier 21-23 Sept

Do any of you know the date for the Historic Superprix at Brands Hatch? Definitely one of the most enjoyable race meetings I've ever been to, the Group C's were outstanding this year.

Based on the last few years, hasn't it normally been same weekend as FoS, so British GP minus a week?
