Standard HSCC race silencing limits, I think. Saloons are 105dba off the top of my head.

Hi Mike, I was thinking of bringing x 2, but not if it is 105 db. Impossible to get it below 108 ish. Alex

Talking to Duncan W yesterday, think meeting will be to normal HSCC rules. The normal limit for closed wheel is 105, unless they can get JDC race run to 108 as open wheel do. You may well be hearing from MRL shortly. |

Just submitted my entry form for the Guards Trophy, so that's all my races entered for 2012. Not been to Oulton for some years so looking forward to it. Hopefully there'll be a decent gap between the GT and the JDC races.
Next job - Accommodation. |

Soounds like things might be a bit spread out for you. I'm sure you won't want to be bored. 3 entries sound like a no-brainer to me ... There, does that help at all? PS. Plus, based on recent history, you should experience the full wet/storm/dry weekend that is traditional for the event. You know it makes [no] sense. |

The Williams car got down to 105dB at Silverstone, in the scrutineers bay.

Oulton Park are allowed to have some un-silenced days every year, this is usually one of them.

But doesn't "unsilenced" in these terms generally mean a higher limit? Like they had at Donington in March. One day was 105dBA the next was 115dBA.

Looking at the timetable for this year all 3 days would have to be 'noisy' to allow Martini cars to run unsilenced as they practice saturday, then race sunday and monday. DB and Martini cars have to run at 108db otherwise. Alex, have you asked Alan at HSCC if he knows the limits? |

I will send them a mail Mike, & find out for sure. Was the Silverstone Classic touring car race 105db ? Thought I read that somewhere.

I'm a bit cheesed off that the HSCC managed to provide a "long" race for a championship outside the HSCC & only given the HTC a single 20 min race.

All the HSCC 'mainstay' grids have only one 20 minute race. Splitting Guards into SR and GT with 2 x 45 minutes is quite time consuming. Also, looking at the entry form seems to be empahasis on the 'high profile' stuff which is maybe what is to be expected at Gold Cup? Alex, don't think Classic was not run to a limit (AFAIK). Certainly no noise testing- The 635CSI would never have passed....... |

That car was by far the loudest out there, and that's saying something when a load of buzzing M3's and 'cammy' supertourers were out as well! |

HSCC very kindly acknowledged my entry today. Not sure if I can actually say that in polite company.
