Matthews Dad should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Congratulations to Andy Holley (AKA Flying Muppet)

Just recevied the following message from the MSA

"Andrew Holley named JLT MSA Marshal of the Year 2011

The Motor Sports Association (MSA) is delighted to announce that Andrew Holley has been named the 2011 JLT MSA Marshal of the Year.

The JLT MSA Marshal of the Year award is designed to reward excellence among the 12,000-strong team of MSA-registered volunteer marshals, without whom motor sport could not take place.

Holley has become firmly established as a trusted and valued Examining Post Chief, whether at his ‘home’ circuits of Oulton Park and Anglesey Circuit, or at any other of the many UK venues at which he marshals.

A highlight of Holley’s marshalling career has been taking responsibility for – and transforming radically – the British Motor Racing Marshals Club North Region’s training programme, in his capacity as its Regional Training Manager. He has used his experience as a helicopter pilot instructor to create and manage an operational matrix for the training programmes that is both complex and yet simple to follow, which has enabled hundreds of people to pass smoothly through the training sessions. He is a highly valued member of the BMRMC’s North Region Committee, and is also part of the MSA International Training Team.

Holley said: “I was completely gobsmacked when I was told I’d won, as I didn’t even know about the award, let alone that I’d been nominated! I do what I do simply because I love the sport, so I was taken aback to be recognised in this way.”"

I'd just like to add my congratulation and well done to Andy and a plea to keep up the good work

Well done, Andy!

Deserved after the last few training days we've done when we have come away thinking we've learnt something.

Don't mean that to sound trite because, when you've done 20+ annual training days over 20 years, anyone who comes up with something new where you actually learn something after all that time has to be doing something special.

It just shows the importance of filling in those "event forms" at the end...comment while it is "hot".

Thank you all very much for your kind words!

But just like Naval aviation, marshalling and the organisation of marshal's training is definitely a team effort, so I would like to publicly thank all those who help me put together the training programmes at Oulton each year - and on a wider point of view, all those who I have marshalled with over the years in one way or another.

And yes, before someone else mentions it, I would also like to thank those who have come to my assistance in my slightly fragmented racing career!

I have made so many friends through my involvement with motor sport across the country - and I would love to invite you all along to the RAC club in January; sadly I only get one guest ticket!

Thank you again!

Andy

You could use the material from your pop up marquee

Seriously- Congratulations on your awards

On the downside :- you are going to get a larger trophy cabinet. The pewter 'Crisp dish' is enormous.
