Is anyone marshalling the Dunlop 24hrs in Dubai in January?

Great event. Never marshalled but spectated at three of them. Perfect time of the year to head to the Middle East.

I believe the chosen few have been informed (I wasnt asked before you wonder) I marshalled the first two Dubai 24 hours and had a great time.
I wish those that have been chosen for this years event well in their trip to Dubai and the following weekends 12 hour race in Abu Dhabi.

About £450 for a return ticket out 12th ,back 15th (Birmingham or Gatwick - little difference) £200 for 3 nights in the Premier Inn Investment Park, plus cabs plus grub. Not much change out of £800pp I'd guess, but if the wife fancied a winter break in the sun with some serious shopping opportunities, I'd be out there begging the Motordrome to take me on for the weekend. Thanks Mr Snatcher, that's the sort of reply that I was hoping for.
I guess that I left it too late for 2012, but perhaps 2013, with wife. She is an avid shopper! I do now have a contact at the Motordrome. |

I think this is the second year when the party has been reduced to 8 post chiefs. As the local marshals get more experience the numbers of UK marshals will almost certainly reduce further, after all, we only go to help train the local guys and give the benefit of our experience.
