Is this for South Mids members only?

Ah, but are you a Northern marshal, or a marshal in the North region? Subtle but profound difference!

Aha, you've blown my cover! I'm a marshal in the North Region, originally from East Anglia. Kaybee, however, is a northerner - even worse, a Mancunian - but they've allowed her in, maybe because she was with me!

These nights are always excellent.

Now, if someone who is going could just mention to Mr H that his star driver has been earmarked as "future husband" for my niece then I will happily pass on contact details or be able to forward his details on to the niece.

(Above is a family joke. Rachel got tickets to the British GP last year for her 18th and this Christmas got a fantastic set of all-in-one framed photos. She refuses to give up hope!)

George, the niece would not appreciate your humour.

If she could get car named after her - "Rachel" - and some way of knowing...!

Now that would make me the best ever auntie ever...???

I've upset them with picture of me "sans hair" so am really trying to get back into good books!

I know who my star driver is!

We hope to be at the Club Night and if I get an opportunity, I will suggest Rachel as a name for one of Seb's cars this season.

Well, managed OK with my own marriage - 50 years this year! Speaks volumes for a man's patience and forbearance, don't you think?

Bill has put up with me for 20ish years so you may want to discuss......!

Seriously, if you could arrange for "Rachel" on one of Seb's cars, my family standing would go up umpty-ump ....

No pressure...........

What a great night - as George said "one of the best ever". Christian was still going strong at !0:40 and he was obviously fairly relaxed talking to us - no evidence of excessive foot jiggling!

So glad that I travelled from the West Midlands to this event. It was brilliant, despite moi et Bodybag arriving late and perching on the stairs for the first half.

We'll have to watch this space to see if Seb does change from Kinky Kylie to Raunchy Rachel for 2012!!!

Didn't get home until after 00.15.......but so worth it and Christian answered my question on the countries pulling out of races. Maybe next year we will get Mexico and Argentina on the F1 map?

I would also like to advise that I have refrained from listing the 2011 F1 programme that I got him to sign on a certain bidding site, lol

Clubnight

What a brilliant evening.
I expected a F1 star to give maybe an hour and a half of his evening, but to stay for as long as Christian did was fantastic.

The only problem is how are S Mids going to top that?

That is the right thing to do.

Could I ask that no marshal who obtains autographed goods via his or her station as a marshal, on duty or not, ever offers them on eBay or whatever. The Doghouse Ladies who have supported us on many occasions and most recently paid towards the new marshals' shelters at Silverstone, find it increasingly difficult to get signed team gear for their various charitable activities. The drivers and teams say too much of this promptly appears on some "For Sale" site, leaving them to wonder just who benefits most from their contribution.

Anything I acquire goes via a fellow Marshals' Club member to the Cot Death charity, remembering that Jeff and Alison Bloxham's first born was a cot death casualty. I would be happy to put anyone in touch with my contact if you have memorabilia to get rid of.
