Just a quick reminder that the BRSCC Northern Centre Dinner Dance is just over a week away on 3rd March 2012 7.30pm till late.

If you are still undecided whether to attend how about this for an incentive? We have coming along as our guest speaker the inimitable Flight Lieutenant Charlie Brown RAF. Apart from being a qualified flying instructor Charlie also flies a range of World War 2 war birds ranging from Spitfires to Russian fighters. He can tell a good story!!

The BRSCC Northern Centre's annual dinner dance took pace on 3rd March at Arties Mill, Brigg. The meal was followed by a talk given by Flt. Lt. Charlie Brown one of the instructors at the Central Flying School, RAF Cranwell who also flies WWII Warbirds as a hobby. Flt. Lt. Brown then presented the centre's awards to Martin Dwyer who was awarded the Person of the Year (Nigel Mansell Trophy), Joyce Swan was awarded Marshal of the Year (The British Racing News Trophy) and Helen Howarth was awarded Young Marshal of the Year (Special Award) the Northern Centre congratulate the recipients on their awards. Many thanks goes to Flt. Lt Charlie Brown for a very interesting and amusing talk and also for presenting the awards. The raffle held on the evening raised £160 which will be split between the Centres Rescue Unit and the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance. Bouquets were presented to Helen Rushforth and Janet Wilson for their help throughout the year and Jo Coote for organising the dinner dance and all she does for the committee. An enjoyable evening was had by all.
