Motorsport at the Palace 26/27 May
Monaco Grand Prix? Pah!
Indy 500? Load of rubbish! Motorsport at the Palace – now you’re talking! Sevenoaks & District’s jewl in the crown event is about a month away at the real birthplace of motorsport - Crystal Palace park (racing here dates back to 1899). Unfortunately the original track has had parts built on, although to be fair it’s so narrow I doubt they would allow racing on it regardless so a sprint it is. If you are in or around London, I can wholeheartedly recommend this (not that I’m biased or anything ) Entry list is here: http://www.motorsportatthepalace.com...hp/competitors Something like 170 different cars over the 2 days; everything from a 1913 Vauxhall Viper to a 2013 Radical. Obnoxiously loud bikes will be doing demos in their own area over the weekend too. Any tenthers taking part? |

Hopefully marshalling as one of the "orange bods"for the fourth year on the trot.
Looking forward to it. |

I will be there.
Had a great time last year, and looking forward to this one. It is 450 miles from home to Crystal Palace, but well worth it. |

Entry list has been finalised (same link as above) - the event is so oversubscribed, there is a reserve list for the first time.
Great to have the Pilbeam back David, IIRC top 5 overall last year - maybe a contender for FTD (along with the Ensign & Force). |

Fourth overall last year on the Sunday, following a very fraught day on Saturday with lack of fuel pressure.
Over winter we discovered a schoolboy error with the throttle linkage, whereby its' design didn't allow more than three quarter throttle when the pedal was on the stop. This has now been rectified, so the old bus is a bit livelier now ! To counter that optimism I see I have the works V8 Radical to contend with - I will have my work cut out I suspect. Regardless of the outcome, it will again probably be the most enjoyable event of my season. |
