United States Grand Prix - Predictions Contest 2022 - Round 19 of 22 - Results

Congratulations to wolfhound on his second win of 2022. Completing the podium were smellysocks and Aysedasi in second and third places, respectively.

The results for the Mexican Grand Prix will go up tomorrow and then the thread for Brazil will be open. Remember this weekend's action includes a sprint race too, so there will be plenty to predict.

What happened in Texas

There were fourteen entrants and eleven of those predicted Verstappen as the winner.

The next best predicted driver in their correct position was Alonso, again, like in Japan, in 7th, put there by six of our predictors.

smellysocks, Aysedasi, wolfhound and I all had the highest number of top 10 drivers, with eight, all of us, understandably, including Sainz, but missing the same two - Magnussen and Tsunoda.

Nobody put Magnussen or Tsunoda in their top ten.

Nobody guessed all three qualifiers in their right positions (and nobody put Sainz for pole), but exactly 50% of us put Leclerc in 2nd.

Nobody had predicted Zhou's fastest lap in Suzuka, but this time Teretonga managed to get Russell's.

I was the only person not to put Red Bull for fastest pit stop.

Last time out nobody got Vettel as Driver of the Day and this time... nobody got him as Driver of the Day.

Three entrants predicted accurately that Verstappen would win Driver of the Grand Prix, while four did the same for Ferrari as Team of the Grand Prix (the other correct option would have been Aston, but no-one went for that).

Six entrants got the Rate the Grand Prix score correctly, and again, all for one of the two options - for the 7.

Of this year's fifteen entrants, only Born Racer Fan, Teretonga, chunterer and Notso Swift remain to win.

In the championship, BTCC frog still leads by 68 points, only this time it is over steve_r, who has moved back up to 2nd. The only other change is that the Japanese Grand Prix winner Gnussi has slipped behind smellysocks, who now sits in 5th.
