These are the ones I have:
Audi R8R (1/12 size I think - it's big! with a removable cover so you can see all the engine bits. Hot Wheels: Panoz LMP-01, Cadillac Northstar (2000), Mercedes CLK-LM (the flying one), Porsche 911, Porsche 972, three different Panoz roadsters, and the Mercedes DTM car that Berndt Schneider drove last year. The rest of my cars are F1 cars. |

Re: hot wheels?
That's funny - I bought the Chaparral, the Cunningham, and a Cobra (blue w/white stripes) last Saturday - saw it at the local super market & couldn't resist
![]() I used to be a matchbox et al. collector, but not anymore. Hot Wheels are great, though. One of the few cars I still have is their London Taxi Hotrod - in "plum Crazy" metallic, with a green sun roof, and something very V8 looking sticking out from under the hood... ![]() |

Did Panoz ever put out the LMP-07 in the hot wheels series? Now that it's going to be rebadged as a privateer, it might be a good collectible.

Like a couple of other people in this thread, I pick up the odd small Hot Wheels/Matchbox 'toy' car from the supermarket/Woolworths/toys'r'us whenever something catches my eye that is a little different to the usual saloon (sedan) car. Great value at around a quid a go.
On my desk at work I've got a Lotus Elise MkI in yellow, a silver Lotus 340R and purple Plymouth Prowler. At home I've got (from memory) a Cobra 427 which I got yesterday - it has an opening bonnet! A Chapperal of some sort, Panoz Esperante, Panoz LMP01, Ford Gt90, Holden Commodore Police Car, Corvette CR5 road car, Ferrari 333 (red) and some others I can't recall. |

Yes, you are right, it's the CLR not CLK. Typo. (Maybe the top fell off the "R" when it flipped?)
The Chaparall they sell as a hot wheels car is a knockoff, as the Chaparall was a closed car. And the Shadow they sell is also a knockoff because it's the wrong colour and has a dodgy wing configuration. I suppose this is because they are not licensed. |

What do you mean a "knockoff" The Hotwheels #28 Chaparral 2 is not a knockoff. The white 1 has the correct rear wing, front winglets and exhaust exiting out the rear deck. The wheels are ok.The 2 Coupe was raced in 3 different rear wings and front headlights.Chaparal 2 hotwheels #1008 (red in colour) is the same as the white 1. The 2 Hotwheels #178 green is the same as #28 and #1008 except for different wheels and colour. The Shadow Hotwheels I have is in UOP colours,(black) with all correct decals etc, wheels are slightly different. Is there another colour available? Has anyone seen a 2f #802 made in Italy around 30 years ago ??? |

I'm sorry. My cousin has pointed out that I was looking at a Cunningham. I don't know what they are, I just buy them to play with them ...
And the Shadow I have is blue. |

Some Cunningham stuff:
The C4R was an open top car, the C4RK was a coupé: http://www.mgussin.freeuk.com/1-32Cunninghams.htm Cunningham campaigned his own C-cars, and specials like the "Bumerc" and "Le Monstre", but also Maseratis, Jaguars, and Cadillacs, to name but a few. His main claim to fame is his 10th place at Le Mans 1950 in a Caddy Coupe de Ville - read the story here: http://web4.duc.auburn.edu/~campbmw/...lemans50.shtml Here are some pictures of what used to be the Cunningham car collection: http://www.river-road.net/oldcars/cunningham/ Some more about the C-3: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/G...cunningham.htm Here is a biography of Briggs Cunningham: http://dega.cs.unc.edu/~nick/new/vir...cunningham.htm Go here for a (large!) picture of the 1963 E-Types: http://www.westnet.com/~mfrank/lmltwt2.jpg Finally, if you would like to own a brand new C4R ![]() http://www.adv-energy.com/~edwardh/chm1.htm |

Hot wheels! Eeeeeek. Maybe I'm being a little harsh, as Hot Wheels have made some impressive strides, but go and compare them against diecasts by Minichamps (1/18 and 1/43), Ixo (1/43), etc, etc and the difference in quality is apparent. Mind you, it's the only way to get a diecast Cadillac at the moment, altough Spark Models are releasing some 2000 and 2001 spec Le Mans Cadillacs in 1/43rd pre built resin.
BTW, is there really a Mercedes CLR available? I mean a race version. I understood that Mercedes didn't sanction any replicas of that car. Only Provence Moulage and BBR made kits. Hoping I'm worng. Mike |
