the car is a "Maki F-101" from 1974, driven by Howden Ganley(who crashed at the Nurburgring, breaking his legs).

THe car was a conventional DFV/Hewland gearbox powered device, designed by Masao Ono.

A revised car was driven by Hiroshi Fushida, Tony Trimmer and Dave Walker in 1975.

Perhaps the driver in the pic is Fushida, who was the first Japanese driver to attempt to qualify for a F1 race. He later went on to Form Tom's, the leading race team for Toyota in Japan and europe. The Tom's GB operation becoming RTN Norfolk when sold to Audi in 1999.

Just beat me...

It is indeed Hiroshi Fushida, and the pic was taken at the 1975 Dutch GP.

this car is the maki f101c driven by Hiroshi Fushida at the Dutch
Grand prix in 1975.
He qualified 25th and last on the grid but his motor let him down and he did not start the race.

I worked hard on this one.

Keep up the good work
