May's Silverstone F3 Race

Ok I am totally confused - Depending on where you look the 1st visit to silverstone for the F3's is either May 11th/12th or May 5th/6th with or with out the Eurosport Super Racing Weekend on either the International of Full GP Track.

What the hell is going on there is no way that the FIA GT people would schedule a race the same weekend as the Le Mans Test and I recall reading somewhere that the SuperRacingWeekend meeting had been pushed back a week to the 11th & 12th and would combine the British GT & F3 bill.

Now I read on the FOTA site a press release dated Jan 29th that it is all happening on the 5th - Someone please enlighten me.

Ah! but that is totally illogical - They will never schedule the FIA GT's and the Le Mans Test on the same weekend.

That seems to be how the date stands at the moment - I'm not saying they won't re-re-schedule!

It was announced around Autosport International that the round had been moved from the 11th-12th to the 4th-5th so that it didn't clash with the other meeting.

That's one pretty intense week of motorsports, Silverstone Saturday & Sunday (F3/GTs), Thruxton Monday (BTCC), and Knockhill the next Saturday & Sunday (F3/GTs)! I plan to do them all!

You Guys in the UK don't realise how lucky you are.
I wish I could go watch Motor racing 3 weeks in a row within 100 miles.

SneakyG

Last year I seem to remeber getting to Knockhill involved planes, hirecars, hotels and a lot of Scottish rain. We are lucky to have most of our circuits within a 100 miles of Silverstone, unfortunately you need native guides to reach Knockhill and Croft.

I will be impressed if somebody manages to do every single round of the British Touring Car and F3 championships this year. It involves going to Castle Combe in June on a Saturday and Mondello the day after, I would be very impressed if someone does it. If anyone's got a helicopter, I'd love to try...
