F3/GT Meeting @ Brands (29th/30th June)
Has anyone who put their name forward for this meet received any info from the organisers reguarding sign on times and session timings for the weekend yet?

They were on this months newsletter James. If you haven't got one then I think Saturday is 7.30am and Sunday 8.30am sign on. 9.00am start Saturday and 10.00am Sunday. I'm there both days again, are you doing both this weekend?

I'll be there too (if work allows) - I guess sign on is as the great Mr Green suggests, I usually work to signing on closing at 8 on saturday and 9 on sunday.
For an event timetable, such as it is try the MST site or the BRSCC and who is wiggles? Last edited by Bodysnatcher; 26 Jun 2002 at 13:12. |

You flatter sir!
I put my name forward for both days, lets hope the weather holds out. Jon suggested giving post 5 or 6 a go so I'll probably see if there are any spare spots on either of those. |

By the way there is no GT race but the Porsche Open series is coming instead. I am probably driving the safety car.The timetable keeps changing but the start times are correct.

Wiggles what was the Jaguar incident?, I was marshalling on the long circuit( my second year now)but didnt get to see much. I am also looking forward to Brands this weekend, but having seen the schedule theres a lot there, and i bet it wont finish on time! |

Up on the long circuit? Well you may have noticed a rather long delay between races late in the day when a Jag decided to smack headlong into the tyre wall between 3 + 4A when its brakes totally failed at the top of Paddock Hill.
A bloody nasty crash. The tyre-wall did its job and totally collapsed while the front of the Jag was completely crushed. Two of us ran down from post 3 to make sure the driver was out and ok (he was, thankfully). After the race when we went to extract the car and had got it onto the track it was apparent that its petrol tank had been punctured and as a result it was slowly leaking onto the track. Needless to say it took a fair bit of time to get the car off the circuit and clean the track down. I'm looking forward to a bit of piece and quiet at the F3 meet this weekend. (PS. Stephen, instructions for this weekend came through the post this morning. See you at sign-on ) |

Never mind this weekends sign on instuctions - what about next weekend at the big airfield?
See you Saturday morning boys, I think I'll have to go for a short circuit post since I'm on call, but if Alec offers me Dingle Dell, well I might just be persuaded. |

hello Spanner more new blood for the forum, good to see you here, just to clarify.
This weekend 29/30Jun Brands Hatch - no signing on instructions - a bit late but no big deal, I'm only 2 miles away after all. Next weekend 5/6/7 July Silverstone (aka the big airfield) still no signing on instructions - I expect better organisation for an F1 event. c'mon, we had to volunteer for the GP way back before what?, Christmas and then tell em how big yer tent will be in feb? whats the problem, change of campsite at the last min? (spreading nasty rumour here) 7 days from now we'll be there - obviously post allocation to allow my talents to be utilised to their maximum is giving trouble. No,No, not hanger straight I scream.. (Although I have heard rumours as to why the allocation of posts may not be notified in advance) it's all Octagons's fault I say and BTW Brands does have an airfield |

It does indeed. That's where the Jools Holland/Eric Clapton concert is being held during the Ferrari weekend!
Should have the tickets for the GP I think as was told they were being posted early this week. As it's now Thursday I guess even the Silverstone pidgeon will have managed the treck south my tonight? Camping is behind Copse I have it on good authority, confirmed earlier this week. |

As far as I know this weekend at Brands is short circuit only. G.T.s opted out due to the close proximity of Coombe, Le Mans etc.. By the way the Porsche guys (and Minis) are paying £200 each for 15 laps.Far too cheap!!!!!
