Brands 14th July

Me and the wife will be on paddock hill as we are every week, takeing a few photos if ever you are at brands you must of seen us. i think we have only missed a few meetings 2 wheel and 4 wheel in the last year. I think all the marshalls do a great job and deserve more praise for the work they do after all NO MARSHALLS = NO RACING. Anyone out there see that clio have that shunt last sunday and burst into flames, the car was a total wreck but thanks to the marshalls and medical crew there were no serious injurys as i understand one of the drivers broke his wrist which was amazing considering the impact needless to say i got a few good pics of the incident, which i dont sell but cover my hall walls (i know sad aint it).If you want to say hello i allways wear a blue cap (mark mayall motorsport,or troy corser)

I certainly will. Mind you, my enthusiasm for the meeting has soured slightly having discovered that the dreaded Karts are on the programme as well

I must have seen you many times as I miss very few car meetings at Brands. Although I am a marshal, I have got to know many of the regular spectators over the years. Are you always at Paddock Hill? I will look out for you at this meeting.

Yes, I did. I was on Post 8 last Sunday and dealt with the incident. Many thanks on behalf of all the crew on the post for your kind comments.

I have marshalled at some duff club race meetings this year, but the first day of this two day meeting was better than expected. Good grids in all races except for the BRDC single seaters who were below double figures. Must have carried a lot of spares cos after practice and each race there were always a number of badly damaged BRDC single seaters which the spannermen managed to get repaired for the next session. The final BRDC race was a cracker.

There were some advance grumbles amongst the marshalling fraternity about the two-hour saloon/sports car race with only 24 starters. Actually it was a dam good race with an interesting and varied entry; most of the cars finished the race. Good training for the flaggies.

As usual the supercoupe cup managed to resemble a destruction derby at Arena Essex!

Roll on tomorrow :-)
