race entry fees etc

interested in racers feelings over the subject of entry fees, club membership, co -ordinators fees, it would appear a lot of drivers vote with their feet, as in , dont race all season

I cant see that 14/ 15 race series, 3 meetings in 4 weeks, double headers meetings etc. helps fill the grids.

This turns off racers/marshalls and the few spectators not in the garden centre

Well, I can say here in the US, entry fees are a massive roadblock for racers, typically taking up more than half of a poor driver's budget for a season, not counting initial car purchase/prep. In our FIA-recognized organization, the SCCA, entry often costs upwards of $250 just for a club race or a rally.

At an independant club, though, such as the National Auto Sport Association, entry for a club racing event can cost as little as a tenth of that, making it an excellent value, but sadly low in profile. Because they run on tight budgets, these clubs do not have large "war chests" with which to promote themselves as spectator events.
