Fantasy Team '03
Lets just say for a minute that you've got a few lazy $mil spare, and have signed up a heap of new sponsors ready to roll for a new 2 car team in CART next season. Who do you choose? They can come from the lower ranks, or be unemployed old hands elsewhere.

Tomas Scheckter because he's got raw speed and talent and Ricardo Zonta because he too is very quick when he's got the right machinary.

Three-car effort: Pat Long, Paul Edwards and Phil Giebler, with A.J. Allmendinger and Gunnar Jeanette in Atlantics. So all domestic young guns.
If I had the money, I'd run Roberto Moreno as well... As a sentimental favorite, but I've got so many of them... |

I believe I'd run Memo Gidley and Roberto Moreno. Of course, I'd prefer to hold off on the announcement until I was sure Team Kool Green was out at which point I would buy Franchitti over Moreno.
If money (and reality) were no object I'd buy Mario, Emmo, and a time machine. |

No problem...
Paul Tracey and Michael Andretti. Sure Michael's looking a bit shakey, but ya gotta love the guy right? Oh, he's off to IRL? Then Pauly and Scott Dixon. |

Hard question to answer at this stage, as we don't know who will be employed next year, and are we defining the IRL as a 'lower rank'?
If I was starting a team I'd have one driver with CART experience and one rookie, chosen from: Experienced: Servia, Moreno, Gidley, De Ferran, Castro Neves, Franchitti, Dixon Rookie: Rice, Wilson, Scheckter, Long, Hornish (I think, given the chance, he'd consider a move), Wheldon, Giaffone, Enge, Bourdais, Wirdheim |

Buddy Rice, Memo Gidley, Tomas Sheckter, they all have considerable talent, and all deserve a drive in CART, so I would give it to them!

Gidley to be sure. What's Jan Magnussen up to these days?
If they don't have to be from lower ranks, how 'bout Villeneuve? If they do, then deFerran's the man. |

Magnussen? What was I thinking? He's good, but he's no Max Papis!

JV has made it quite clear he is a money whore...He would rather battle at the back of the pack in a **** car in F1, than battle wheel to wheel for a championship in a great car in CART...ONLY because there is more $$ in F1. I lost all respect fo that guy.

Roberto Moreno would be my number one for sure. At 42, still oozing class, speed, skill and a love for the sport. An asset to any racing team.
The second car I'd give Tomas Scheckter a run. |

Dario and Dixon, with Moreno, Papis Gidley and Rice aspossible substitutes if the two top guns go elsewhere. Dixon is not hard on cars-very little accident damage, papis did miracles with such an underfunded team earlier in the season, moreno has been so useful as Supersub in the past, gidley had some good races for Gnassi in the past. Rice is probably the best bet regarding the new generation of young up-coming Americans.

Danicia Patrick.
Just because. And if she has a sister, I'll hire her, too. |

Memo Gidley and Bruno Junqueria.
Casey Mears would make 3/4 races in a 3rd car. |

well, don't criticise JV always, then. Or create a topic for it.
