My car is safe in a garage a long way from here and anybody who breathes on its shadow is subject to the death penalty.
However, I have wrecked rental cars, and had my 1971 Pontiac Catalina (a land yacht) wrecked for me by teenagers who were busy yammering and drifted into the left turn lane at about 80 mph. I drove home. They had to be towed. Served them bloody right. |

Only one - not my fault either.
My highly visible blaze orange 1972 Hillman Avenger was stationary at a traffic light in Kinmel Bay, North Wales, when I was hit from behind by a Vauxhall Viva. The impact was sufficiently hard to bend the roof of the Hillman and put me in a neck brace. It was only a small additional shock to discover that the teenaged driver who hit me was uninsured. |

Yip. Bought a new motor two years ago. 6 months later I drove into the back of the car in front who had stopped suddenly. Completely my own fault. I was sick as a pig at the time but learned my lesson (expensive lesson)

Flew over a ditch and into a field with my old Pontiac GP. No damage, and got the car out before the law arrived.
Later rammed into the back of stopped traffic in the same car. Got charged with that one. Ran through a stopsign and got nailed broadside in my dad's car. Got charged with that one, too. But my favourite was my wife's little "accident". She drove into a horseshoe peg at the campground at MIS. Tore up the door on the car we still drive. Never did get it fixed, I'm sorta proud of it because it gives "bragging rights." I like to say that it was a "racing accident" at the Speedway! |

I was driving my Parent's Maestro many years ago when I drove into the back of a car at a roundabout- the daft thing is that he'd only just managed to pass me after tailgating me for the last mile!
(don't worry Maisie, I only broke the bumper and bent the little bit of angled steel below the grill- still cost me £200 including paint!) I got into a spin in my old Dutton Melos kit-car and broke a wheel once- which was caused by the unlikely combination of a wet road, me forgetting the bonnet clips and the clutch cable breaking at exactly the wrong time coupled with a leaking rear brake cylender whose seals gave up the ghost right on cue! I drove it home (less than half a mile) and paid a visit with TimD to the Alycat factory in Telford to collect a new wheel- and thats a story in itself!! Hey, whats wrong with the Road Cars Forum ?? |

I will also admit to being a passenger as Chris drove his old beige Sierra (aka the Flying Pasty) over a roundabout in North Wales one dark night.

'bottle is correct; 'twas he who drove my Lamborghini into Peter Mallett's swimming pool. However, it was not wrecked; the goldfish are finding it a nice playground now and Mallett seems to fancy it as a work of art.
I had a 1967 Ford that caught on fire once. That was the best thing that ever happened to that piece of . All I can recommend is never buy a car made on a Monday. |

Oh geeze....you all sound so tame!
Car 1 - 1968 Toyota Corolla, written off when I was hit in the back by a Mazda RX7 doing 80km. The corolla ended up like a squashed can - completely compacted to the back seat. Car 2 - 1972 Toyota Corolla (I had a thing for Rally, thus Toyota number 2) written off when I got collected by a Commadore on St. Kilda Road (crossing all 8 lanes at speed) which spun me round and then sent me into a pole. Car 3 - The HQ! I have hit a few things in this one, first was a Kangaroo which destroyed the front end, second was me being a fool and tapping the car in front (I broke his tow ball cover...my bumper ended up with the imprint of the tow ball itself). The HQ also suffered a side swipe by a truck which was stolen, much to my joy HQ has also been stripped of badges and good bits by thieves, and key scratched numerous times by jealous gutter dwelling pond scum (well, thats what I call people that do that). I would like to add, that the HQ is now fully restored and living snug at home.
