2 of the founding members of KJR are now ... ProTech Composites

Engineering Director Simon Barker and Commercial Director Vincent Franceschini founded ProTech Composites in 1998.

Simon and Vincent met in 1994 whilst working for the Tyrrell Formula 1 team. Between 1989 and 1997, Simon was involved with the development of composite design and manufacture at the highest level of motorsport. Over these years, the expertise he acquired was second to none.

Vincent and Simon left the Formula 1 world in 1997 to concentrate on developing new and fresh ideas in composite technologies to benefit a wide range of industries.

Since its launch, ProTech Composites has been a success story. The company now employs over 30 qualified staff, supplies 25 different regular customers in diverse industries, with 2002 sales exceeding £1.8 million.

I never knew the full story, but wasn't the "merger" between KJR and Monaco Motorsport in F3000 for the start of 2001 essentially Monaco buying the team? (The cars ran in the Monaco colours with their sponsorship).

A German journalist just emailed me and said "David Jensen will work for the new F3000 team Brand Motorsport".

www.brandmotorsports.com

Also, Brand Motorsports have apparently bought Nordic Racing, to set up their second F3000 team. The first was established by purchasing Red Bull Junior Team (RSM Marko).

Hard to believe Nordic have quit (if it's true) so soon after their dominant 2001 season.

i knew about the ex-Tyrell boys being part of the KJR team , but didnt know about them starting up ProTech Composites .

I went to KJR's web site the other day , and i wondered why it got forwarded to the ProTech site .

I think its a bit of a shame really , Kid Jenson Racing seemed to have a good feel about the team , and after the great season they had with Minnassian in F3000 , itg seems a shame to not to see them around this year in racing series .

The "news" regarding Brand & Jensen and re. Brand and Nordic may well be false, or rumours at best. The source also provided me and F3000.com with a FALSE story regarding the Pantano vs. Super Nova court case.

When I replied to the source's email, it was revealed that somehow they had improperly sent the message from the account of an F3000 team member, without their knowledge.

Have absolutely no idea why (or how) someone would go to such trouble... I know they wanted money (or a "reward") for further news, but what good would that be when the reply is going to someone who knows nothing about this "German journalist".

Not sure - I have also heard the Brand/Jensen and Brand/Nordic rumours.
