Seton vs Lowndes vs Bezzy

Who do you think will win the FPR war & why?

Lowndes - is the only driver contracted to Ford, and Ford are making it clear he's their new "Personality" Hence he's getting the only BA to start the season for FPR, which by all accounts should be far superior to the AU's Seto and Bezzy will be starting 03 with.

Lowndes will be faster initially in the BA.

The fastest of the 3 drivers is arguably Besnard, so I expect some good qualifying performances from him... racing may be different matter... the enduros will be interesting depending on pairings

Interesting to read in MN that prodrive are building 4 BA's this year!!!!

"The fastest of the 3 drivers is arguably Besnard". How do you come up with that. Lowndes would kick Besnards arse any day in the same car. If Lowndes was in a Stone brothers car last year the race for No.1 would have been alot closer.

Seton is past it and is almost qualified as "over the hill".

Besnard's only high point this season will be learning how to really be a racing driver from Lowndes.

Lowndes is the only real all round package.

I think Seton is the most gifted driver out of the three & will win races when he gets a sorted BA

Besnard is quick. Im not convinced he knows why or how he is quick, it just kinda happens. He will be a better qualifier than Lowndes as he does not know what limits mean

Hence my comment regarding race results

I think Lowndes Initially then when the other BA's come on line look out for Bezzy and do NOT discount a rejuvinated, more focused , no longer team owner Seton.

Lowndes is one of the best one lappers around and proved that last year at Sandown, sure he was out qualified by by Ambrose but there were factors involved. 1. Ambrose had a further warm up lap. 2. Lowndes car was a pile of rubbish. Dont get me wrong besnard is fast but in equal cars i would say Lowndes would out point him in race craft and cunning any day.

It wouldn't suprise me if Seton puts in some good results. I personally think he could be the quickest of the 3.

1.Seton
2.Lowndes
3.Besnard

With Seton taking a step back from his owner/manager role and all of his concentration focused into just driving, he will out drive Lowndes, once he gets his BA.

Mark Webber has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
after it is all sorted out team/carwise

1.Besnard
2.Seton
3.Clowndes

Bezzy is quicker, Seto will step up

It's a tough call. Initially presuming Lowndes gets the first BA, I'd say he will struggle to keep up. If in one of his old AU Seton, who will presumablly retain his old engineer who is use and the whole team and will be more comfortable and be able to get a better set up. Agian presuming Lowndes will be the lone explorer (of the BA) leaving Bezzy also in AU. He should'nt be to far behind Seto.
After the first round or two things will be a whole new ball game. Eventually they will all be in BA, Bezzy & Lowndes familiar with their surrondings things should level out and then the best driver will shine through.
Who that will be I'm not entirelly sure. My money would be on Lowndes leading Seto then Dave. But onlly time will tell and the season is fast approaching.

Id like to see Seton have a strong year but in the company of Lowndes and Besnard I think he will come in 3rd unless the other 2 take each other out.
Out of Lowndes and Besnard well Lowndes knows what its like to win and how to drive to win always managing to open a gap on green tyres and controling his lead margin without crashing, but I dont think even Lowndes is as quick as Bezzy and Bezzy has dominated other forms of Motorsport so he knows he can win so I reckon it might be Bezzy who comes out the No1 in the Team at the end of 2003 If hes got good team support.
If he doesnt then I think he will drift back towards a L2 team in 2004.
But I really would like to see Ford pay Seton back for all the Support he has given them with a car quick and reliable enough to Win Bathurst.

Have to agree with GTR Magic here. Lowndes is fabulous in the races, if he gets in front he almost always stays there. In qualifying is often shaded by others.

Seton is smooth but not aggressive enough for the current environment and Besnard is just fast as.

I can't believe that men of reason are still making excuses for Seton...........

And I hope for his sake he doesn't keep ANY of his old crew as they would be better off working in the agricultural maintenance field (tractor mechanics).

If FPV give Lowndes a car he can "drive" as HRT did, there will be no one in his team or any team that will touch him. He is still, even after his 2 lean years at Ford, the highest persentage winning driver in the field. How quickly our memories faid. He can qualify and he can race. And given a car he doesn't have to overdrive he will win. He has made alot of mistakes the last 2 years because he has had to drive that car 20 persent harder then it was capable of. LOWNDES RULES. Don't forget in 2000 HRT had to give Skaife all Lowndes crew and Robby Star for Skaife to beat Lowndes. (and everyone wonders why he left) Star was Lowndes main man. He is the common part of all HRT championship wins. It took a big dummy spit by Skaife to get him. I think Lowndes won the award for most poles that year.
