V8 Fan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Holden saves HRT's neck.

v8x

Holden today announced it has purchased TWR Australia, the company currently managing Holden Racing Team operations and providing engineering design work to Holden and other clients.

The decision secures the future of Holden racing operations following the appointment of administrative receivers to five TWR companies in the UK. It does not involve Holden Special Vehicles, which has operated under a separate structure to TWR since 2001.

A smart move by Holden - hope the TEGA team ownership technicalities don't cause a problem (would it be a Trade Practices restraint of trade issue?)

Good on holden for doing what is right not only does it protect the brand but the jobs of all those people working in the HRt HSV workshops in Clayton.
If what you say is correct and there is an issue with Team Brock, what about their 4th team the Young Guns operation in QLD.

If TWR/HRT/KRT aren't allowed to race, how credible will a Championship victory for Ford be without the leading adversary in the fight?

Geoff Polites may get his wish of Champioship victory but what about the hollowness of it without the satisfaction and commercial bragging rights of beating Holden?

Holden got in bed with TWR, who as an entrepreneur was running on the ROBM system(running on the bank manager), as a lot of 'High Flyers' do. Now that the **** has hit the fan Holden has started, we want to play but on our rules. They did not do their homework properly. Is Mr Crennan out of a job?
Moffman I agree the forums are attracting people with HRTitis.

If it is a problem (Holden owning a license that is) I can see a consortium of sponsors (Mobil Bridgestone KMart etc) being offered the licenses for a very discounted price. That way they get around the rules, the cars can run and everyone is happy.
More importantly why is it such a problem for Holden or Ford to own Supercar Licences ? Why is this different to a factory team, in the end does it really matter? It is obvious where all the money comes from anyway, isnt it just names on a piece of paper?

mixxer has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Well Im sorry to say it but this made the Ch10 Melb news : 3 Holden Teams may be banned from competeing at the AGP HRT, Kmart and Team Brock due to the rules stopping a Manufacturer from owning a race team, they went on to mention the fact that the No 1 and 2 in the championship (Skaife & Murphy) in 2002 will probably miss the AGP as a result (obviously).
