Sorry for the difficulty. In a nutshell Nascar is trying to something after Robby Gordons hood went into the stands at the July 5 race at Daytona and injured a fan.

Personally, I love seeing damaged cars out on the track, theres something about it that makes it good to see, getting the thing to the finish no matter what, It's good to see. The Robby Gordon incident is worrying, but well....what can you do apart from not allowing a car with any damage back on the track? |

damaged cars bah! NASACR NEXTTEL cup cars are tanks a dent or a missing hood is no reason to stop them its part of the win or never race attitude, races at bristol and martinsvile would have to be cancelled, besides his hood restraints were obviously broken and that's the problem not any accident...

I think Nascar has policed this pretty well over the years. It's alot different having a fender missing at Bristol where top speeds are under 100 mphs as apposed to say Daytona or Mich. Flying parts can be deadly at 200 mph. The increase in bolt size should help keep the hoods from getting away. Now we just have to worry about wheels.

Maybe you could turn the blame to Daytona, tell them they need a bigger fence. NASCAR is so points oriented, they would race in a role cage if that's all they had.
On a related note, they got to do something about all the fires they've been getting lately. Has anyone notcied that the drivers are always out of the cars before the safety team gets there? |

Ya i agree Chevyguy there seem to be more this year then in the past. The new roof hatch look very promising but Nascar has got to get those fire trucks movin sooner.
