I'll be there out on the bank somewhere. Then only 2 more days to do this year unless anyone has any (polite) suggestions for meetings in this area.

Alan and I will be there. Probably flagging if enough Observers. There is a meeting at Rockingham 1st November, Silverstone 8th and 9th November and Silverstone Stowe circuit 29th & 30th November. Donington 15th and 16th November has been cancelled.

I'll be there on the sunday (unfortunately, third year projects prevent me from doing full weekends...). Is there still a meeting at the end on November at Doninton (22-23rd I think) ??

Wrong dates?

I shall be there this weekend.

I think that you will find that the meeting at Donington on 22-23 November (whichever day) has been cancelled.

(I don't think the 15/16 November one really ever existed)

Regards

Jim

...And didn't we have carnage!!!

A superb weekend with every race being exiting, and almost all sessions giving us at post 11 something to do... we almost didn't have time to eat our pork pies between sessions!

Top marks to the Legends drivers for their races, and the French FRenaults for being the best I've seen this year at noticing the blue flags and reacting to them, and to the Masters FRenaults for (just about) avoiding each other when the old hairpin became castrol corner.

Same again at Croft next weekend?

what about the Clios on Sunday though...I've asked over at Trackside but you guys will no doubt have more insight..I could tell the pace was pretty much unabated through Goddards despite the yellow and SC board and the melee on the straight was inevitable was anybody pulled up in front of the stewards?

It was a superb weekend, although Post 2- Redgate was a lot less busy on Sunday than on Saturday.

Saturday was marred by a (best left) unnamed idiot in Formula Renaults spinning into the gravel and just missing the snatch tractor. Full marks to the snatch marshal for controlling his temper after the drivers 'explanation'.

Sunday was a lot quieter, but it was a good crew on the post throughout the weekend. A pleasure to work with them.

Clio's were pretty processional on Saturday, but I guess they more than made up for it on Sunday. The French FRenaults were just incredible down the the straight into Redgate, at times 3 abreast and giving each other just enough room. I agree with Alan Greens comments, their reaction to the flags was noticeable.

Only one day left now *sob* Mallory Park next Sunday.....

Good weekend

Well done the organisers for an excellent programme and sensible timetable.

The most overtaking I saw in the Sunday Clio race was under waved yellows and while the safety car was out! From about 6th to 2nd in two laps. I didn't find out what action was taken against him.

Conversely a thank you to the drivers in the Saturday Renault race (UK, A group, I think). We were sent out to attend to a driver who had fallen off at Starkeys. The safety car was being deployed but that was going to be a few seconds so the traffic was going to have to cope with us after having only the flags to guide them. (OK a giant white rescue unit with lots of lights might also have given them a clue )

As we were going down Craner the leaders slowed right down, shot past us (but very clearly not at racing speed, it is just that a diesel van is no speed merchant) and continued past the incident at very sensible speeds and behaviour. For the next few laps they circulated behind the safety car and it was noticeable that while most were weaving hard to keep the tyres warm, this stopped or lessened past the actual incident. (The driver was later returned to his team in good condition and raced on Sunday).

Regards

Jim

Highlight of the meeting was Mick Avery autotesting the truck into the ambulance gate on the inside at Redgate - half the length of the Pit straight at full speed in reverse whilst dragging a Clio with jammed rear wheel - full 180 degree reverse turn through the gap all without stopping - gave the ambulace crew a bit of a wake up though...
