He has his opinions, we have ours... leave it at that. Nascar's the biggest racing series in North American by far, but I never watch it.

The IRL can become bigger than NASCAR, I think. At the end of the day, worldwide, open wheel cars are more popular. Some road courses will attract more fans. The current mix of different nationalities in the drivers and engines will also get more international fans interested.

agreed , I think the potential is huge but bigger than Nascar , Im not so sure.

I like nascar I dont watch alot of it but I think its pretty cool, whether Indycar will become bigger than it remains to be seen

The author of this article certainly wasn't trying to be objective, was he?

I can agree with some of his assessment, but most of it was so pro-IRL, you would have thought Tony George paid him to write that story.

Well, its just another opinion out of many in this mess...

Just the mere thought of open-wheel cars flying around “The Glen” sends chills down my back

me too...

Watkins Glen doesn't seem fit for Indycars or Champcars, The armco is so close and it looks pretty dangerous for open wheel.

This is just a poorly written article in general. First he says the IRL runs at Suzuka, then gets it right and says they run Twin Ring Motegi. At this point, I'd just like to see the IRL continue to grow and become more economically viable as a series. Losing money each year is not a good sign. As for the racing though, I'd put that up against what NASCAR produces any day. The IRL guys are running side by side within inches at speeds NASCAR can only dream of. The product is good, they just need to keep plugging away.
