Race entry fees
I am stealing this thread off the Improved production forum.
if you want to see how much CAMS fees make a difference to entry fees, read this thread http://pub189.ezboard.com/faustralia...icID=218.topic There is nearly $200 diffenece in entry fees across the states and territories, and most of that is due to CAMS fees. Us competitors really have to do something about this. |

So is it CAMS doing the gouging, or the insurance companies?
In a number of businesses I have worked for, the workers compensation history in different states can make substantial differences to the costs to operate there. For example, an accident in our WA office increased premiums to nearly double the previous year because of the claims history, and the averaging method used. For the same service provided to the same company with the same risk profile in NSW.... Perhaps this is the way CAMS can make a small fortune fast, to overcharge the 2 states with the largest body of competitors Why can NT run so cheaply? |

For our race meeting last year at Morgan Park we were charging $185 for club members and about $200 for the rest. For that competitors got qualifying and five races. I believe garage hire was around $50, unless you were the owner of shed, then it was basically a freeby (i think the car ports cost $1200-$1500 or something, and if you don't intend to use them, you get a big whack of the rental income). Sure there was track hire and cams permits, but some bit slugs to be taken were paying for a doctor and having the ambos there... neither inexpensive.

It was indicated that circuit hire fee has a large portion to do with it, as Winton's Event this weekend is only $200 entry fee, but the event is under AASA not CAMS therfore being the difference.
