Rally of the Lakes
Is anyone coming over to Ireland for the third round of the Tarmac Championship, the rally of the lakes. Subaru is represented by Laukanen(S7) and McGairity(S9), Ford by the focus's of McHale(03) and O' Sullivan(02), Toyota by Eugene Donnelly, Mitsubishi by Eamon Boland in the first WRC Lancer on Irish shores while George Tracey will debut the ex-Freddy Loix Peugeot 206. Maurice Gass will also have his Hyundai out.
In the entertainment stakes, the legend himself Phil Collins brings his ultimate mk2 while Philip Shaw debuts his ex-McHale BMW M3. Add to this the Group B slowly sideways demonstration, 19 great classic stages plus 2 super special stages Friday evening and the potential is there for possibly the most spectacular rally Ireland has ever seen! |

I first went in 1993 when I was only 8yrs old! Haven't missed it since bar the foot and mouth yr out. I only live approx 4hrs away so i'm headin down friday to help a friend sort out the stages he's running. Hopefully i'll get to do it next year, i've just finished building a mk1 Escort. Like you said Alpina the people are great and as they say the crack is 90! A brilliant wknd all round.

McGairity wins from McHale by 2 mins with Boland another minute back. Tracey ended up twelefth I think in the 206, he had been holding a place in the top ten but had turbo problems late on Sunday. Donie O'Sullivan was holding an excellent 2nd but had a big off on the second run over carragh lake. Rally ran like clockwork even with the huge crowds. No I didn't c it rxie, hope it wasn't to bad was it? However, I can't really see Cleary having a slow accident. Hope he wasn't hurt.

He has an broken leg or something to that effect, the car is destroyed but fixable. The throttle stuck open, she went trew an wall, clipped the side of the rockface, went over and damaged the rest of the car, she went down the rocks on the side aswell, he was lucky it wasnt further on.
