A3 printing.

I'm trying to print a bike photo A3 size. I took it with my Canon 10D but when I look at the "preview" there's a slight border at the top and bottom, I thought that the image would be stored in a standard size so that you could re-size to A4 A5 etc, etc, I'm I doing something wrong or am I just being stupid ( won't be the first time )

Thanks for any help.

Standard image is a 2 to 3 ratio - standard for printing at the likes of 10" x 15".

A3 is 11.75" x 16.5", hence why a standard sized image won't print without borders at A3. Just need to resize slightly in photoshop or whatever you use.

I had 8x10 lines scored on my focusing screen by a company over here in the colonies. So as long as I keep the subject within those lines, I'll be able to print easily to standard computer photo paper sizes (or 'real' photo sizes from the lab). Definately makes things a whole lot easier...

I sent them my camera and in a couple of days i had the new screens in place... http://www.brightscreen.com/enter.html
