35 Courage LMP2

Hi Folks

This is a plug to bring your attention to the 35 Courage Epsilon C-65 IES.

Please keep an eye on the progress of Gavin Pickering who is the sole Brit in a Courage this year. Infact I can't recall the last time there was a Brit in a Courage - anyone care to chip in with their thoughts please do so.

Gavin has a 100 percent finishing record at La Sarthe, having made it to an unpfficial 3rd in class in the WR last year, and previously a 5th in class in the GNM/RML Saleen S7R.

We will be doing all we can to ensure he and his team mates bring the singleton Epsilon car home. The team have joined forces with Courage so we will be sharing resources with them.

Gavin and I set of for LM later today. Tomorrow we decal up the car and Gavin has a seat fitting, then Tuesday am we pass through scrutineering in town. It looks certain that Frenchman Renaud Derlot will be confirmed as 3rd driver along with Gunnar Jeanette.

Thanks for your support - i will try and keep an eye on the forum.

yes, well remembered. I had a mental block for some reason! Remember the red Euroteam Ferrari F-40GTE that year? I was with that team then. We lasted until about 2am and suffered a right-rear puncture that severed an oil line. Robin Donovan was at the wheel. Memories!

Yes, Gunnar is confirmed. Renaud Derlot was the only concern but as far as I know he too is confirmed now. There was a worry that if the team replaced him they would suffer a 'fine' from the ACO. I am sure he will do a good job anyway. I think both Gaunnar and Gavin will be quicker however. Gavin is very consistent, and sensible as is Gunnar. i think we have a good chance. IES have built us a good engine and our spare unit arrives on Wednesday. Team Epsilon have done a remarkable job under all the pressure!

# 13 With Olofsson and Danielson. The car did start though. Didn't last long. 45 laps. Hidgetts was due to drive the 48 Cougar but that was disqualified when it was found to be 7kgs underweight.

if that were to happen this year yves courage would merely have to say that JP Jarier is driving (he is slightly rotund) - hey presto, rubber stamp...
