Sports 1000 - improving?

I see with interest that sports 1000 had a 8 car grid at cadwell... - its clearly improving with three marques represented. - the Ever present ADR's still made up the bulk of the field - but the Phoenix (a special) and a car I had not heard about the TCB 2 (anyone know anything about it?).

Oddly the Scholar 983S and 983SR were missing as was the Farrington SP24/7 - the works car unless it has been repainted was also absent.

Icoburn was not seen either but that puts the field up to 13 cars that could turn out on a regular basis...

It seems clear to me that the 750F needs to be canned and the cars heaped in with the sports racers

Are you for real Mr Collins or are you just a wind up merchant?

I ask this is in all sincerity as you never seem to miss an opportunity to slag off the 750 Formula. By all means talk up the Sports 1000 but why at the expense of another formula. Have they upset you in some way? Do you even know any of the drivers? Come and have a friendly chat next time you are there. A lot of us may be ancient but were pretty lively on the track.

BTW the 750 F is all about building and developing your own car and ideas - and then trying get on terms with guys like Bob Simpson and Mick Harris, which is a big test for any constructor/driver. S1000 has someway to go yet before it can be considered in the same light.

The 750 Formula is surely the epitome of the 750 Motor Club?

Hello Sam,
Thanks for the Sports 1000 plug, although the series are very close in terms of technical regulations, there is room for both, the 750 formula aimed very much at the home build enthusiast, & sports 1000 at both home build with an optional purchase if required.
Personally I would not like to see 750 formula decline, but sports 1000 as an alternative/formula 1300 option.
Unfortunately all club racing is currently under revision due to high costs, & falling entries maybe rules could be opened to enable both sports 1000 & 750 formula to conbine to the advantage of all?.
